WE ARE NORTH TATTNALL MIDDLE SCHOOL!
Message from the Principal
Welcome to the North Tattnall Middle School page! Words cannot express how excited I am to serve the young men and young women of Tattnall County! This is my sixteenth year in education, and I am proud to serve as principal here at North Tattnall Middle School. Tattnall County is known across our area as a great place to work and live, and I feel that is largely attributed to the expectations and pride of this community.
We are excited about all our new and returning teachers, and I’d like to personally vouch for each teacher and coach at NTMS. They are not only great teachers and coaches, but also great people. I know that they are here to teach and grow young men and young women. I am proud to serve alongside each one of them!
In spite of COVID-19 and all of the uncertainty it has brought, we have some very exciting things happening this year at NTMS. Our new house/reward system is one example. Our goals for this program are:
1) to take our school culture and climate to the next level!
2) to give students a sense of belonging
3) to teach students what it means to contribute to something bigger
4) friendly competition
Another new addition this year is our acquisition of a certified reading specialist who will help close the gap with students not reading on grade level. This is a key component of our school improvement and literacy plan, and we can’t wait to see the impact it has on our school!
I have worked in great districts before, but I can tell you without reservation the district support we get here is unparalleled. Our district office is proud to support our growth both academically and athletically. Thank you board of education members and staff for continuing to step up and support us toward doing “Whatever It Takes” as we work towards excellence. I look forward to introducing each of you to #TheWarriorWay Go Warriors!

Summer Reading Skills Program
This summer, help your child become a confident, enthusiastic reader in the Summer Reading Skills Programs, offered by Mercer University, Center for Executive Education and taught by instructors from the Institute of Reading Development.
Strengthen Skills, Build Confidence, Enjoy Reading
These programs teach key reading skills for every grade, from phonics and sight words for younger children, to comprehension, textbook strategies and writing skills for older kids, and everything in between.
Guided by a knowledgeable and supportive teacher, students in these programs experience reading success again and again, developing their skills and building confidence in outstanding books at the right level of challenge for each age.
Your child will build the skills, confidence, and motivation he or she needs to become an avid, enthusiastic reader, who enjoys reading for school and for pleasure.
How the Programs Work
Your child will attend weekly live online classes that build skills and provide great experiences with terrific books – books that are filled with interesting characters, exciting storylines, and engaging themes. Between classes, your child will practice reading and complete fun interactive lessons that develop core skills and build confidence.
An Institute of Reading Development teacher will provide all the support and instruction your child needs to grow as a reader and student. Your child will get a jumpstart on the next school year and be ready to make it a big success!
Let’s Discuss Your Child’s Reading Development.
